About This Event

Lost for 50 years, a collection of 3-D images of Glacier National Park surfaced in the early 1990s at a garage sale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Northern Arizona University history professor Michael A. Amundson scooped them up and began a decades-long quest to detail the life of the photographer, Indiana lawyer Clyde McCoy, as well as revisit the sites McCoy photographed.

Join us for a rare pre-World War II visual feast of historic views in Glacier National Park in multidimensional splendor. Learn about how serendipity can shape a life’s trajectory, how an intrepid Midwestern photographer made his way into remote backcountry then met a mysterious end in Detroit, and how an email can go unanswered for 11 years and then lead to significant discoveries.

McCoy chased beauty. Amundson chased answers. Attendees of this special event will receive both.

3-D glasses provided.
